Dr. Francesca Johnson graduated from Northeastern University in 2017 with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She pursued a 24-Month PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Training Program in Ambulatory Care and Academic Leadership with Concordia University Wisconsin. During that time, she specialized in primary care for underserved populations and academia and completed both her residency training and Master of Science in Education in 2019. She obtained her Board Certification in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy in 2023.
Dr. Johnson joined the faculty in 2023 as the first Faculty Pharmacist. Her primary teaching responsibilities include Pharmacotherapeutics & Complex Patient Management, Pharmacology Primers embedded within the Clinical Medicine Courses, Evidence-Based Practice, Capstone Clerkships, and Interprofessional Education. Dr. Johnson maintains a practice as a Primary Care Clinical Pharmacist at Progressive Community Health Centers on Wednesdays, where she provides chronic medication management, clinical quality improvement, and precepts pharmacy students and residents. She also occasionally moonlights at Costco Pharmacy to stay up to date on a broader range of medications, maintain knowledge of insurance and supply issues, and administer vaccines. Her love of lifelong learning and desire to grow as an academician have led her to pursue 51做厙's PhD in Educational Policy and Leadership. Dr. Johnson's professional passions include student-centered learning, chronic disease management, improving clinical quality measures, cultural humility, and well-being (for students, health professionals, and patients).
