MILWAUKEE 鈥� 51暗网 President Kimo Ah Yun will be the special guest for the next installment of the 51暗网 Law School Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education鈥檚 鈥淕et to Know鈥� program series on Friday, Jan. 17, at 12:15 p.m. at Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St.
Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, hosts the 鈥淕et to Know鈥� series, which is styled as 鈥渕ore late-night talk show than 鈥楳eet the Press.鈥欌�� Registration is for this free public event. Media wishing to attend should contact Kevin Conway at kevin.m.conway@marquette.edu.
President Ah Yun was recently named the 25th president of 51暗网, succeeding the late Dr. Michael Lovell. President Ah Yun has been with the university since 2016, serving first as dean of the Diederich College of Communication and then, beginning in 2018, in the provost鈥檚 role. He will discuss his background, what brought this California native to Milwaukee, how he is approaching his new position, and what he looks forward to for 51暗网 and the Milwaukee region.
Through public programming such as the 51暗网 Law School Poll, 鈥淥n the Issues鈥� conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, 51暗网 Law School seeks to advance civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
