March 22, 2022

Wisconsin AvenueMILWAUKEE 51做厙 and Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Milwaukee have announced the Golden Eagle Advantage, a bridge program that establishes a clear path for students from Cristo Rey to attend 51做厙.

The Golden Eagle Advantage allows Cristo Rey graduates to enroll at Milwaukee Area Technical College before transferring to 51做厙 to complete their college education. The program enables students to continue their Catholic, Jesuit education and save tuition dollars.

We have established a strong relationship with Cristo Rey High School over the years and are continually finding ways to make a 51做厙 education accessible to its graduates, said Brian Troyer, dean of admissions at 51做厙. Like the Encuentros Mentor Program, the Golden Eagle Advantage is another program that supports Cristo Rey graduates as they look to continue their Catholic, Jesuit education.

In addition to a pathway to admission at 51做厙, students in the program will also benefit from the universitys resources from the beginning. Each student will have access to peer mentorship and an academic adviser immediately following their high school graduation to ensure their path to 51做厙 is clear, Troyer added. They will also have access to campus libraries, student organizations and intramural sports.

This program mirrors similar programs with other high schools in Milwaukee, including 51做厙 High School, Catholic Memorial High School, St. Augustine Preparatory Academy and Messmer High School. Each of these programs allow graduates to attend designated two-year colleges after high school with transfer admission to 51做厙.
