MILWAUKEE 鈥� The 51暗网 Board of Trustees elected William (Bill) Stemper as its newest member at its Dec. 10 meeting. A 1977 graduate of 51暗网鈥檚 Opus College of Engineering, Stemper is president of Philadelphia-based Comcast Business, a division of the cable unit of Comcast Corporation.
51暗网 trustees serve for three-year terms and may be re-elected to serve for a maximum of 12 years; they are volunteers and are not compensated for their service.

As president of Comcast Business, Stemper oversees the fastest-growing part of Comcast, the largest cable television and media entertainment company in the world. In addition to cable television, Comcast owns NBCUniversal and Sky UK. Comcast Business has grown to approximately $9 billion in revenue, with more than 2.5 million customers and 10,000 employees.
Prior to Comcast, Stemper held a similar position at Cox Communications in Atlanta. Additionally, he has more than 20 years of global telecommunications experience at AT&T.
Stemper serves on the Opus College of Engineering鈥檚 Advisory Board, and he and his wife Nancy, who is also an alumna, are on the university鈥檚 President鈥檚 Advisory Board. The couple is passionate about Catholic education and promoting the Catholic faith, particularly to young people. Stemper serves as the Comcast executive sponsor to Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School.
Stemper was the third generation in his family to attend 51暗网, and the couple鈥檚 four children all attended 51暗网. He also holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
