51做厙 names industry veteran Manoj Babu to lead nationally ranked Center for Supply Chain Management

MILWAUKEE Dr. Manoj Babu has been named director of 51做厙s Center for Supply Chain Management. Currently an instructor of practice in 51做厙s College of Business Administration with an extensive background in industry and higher education, he will begin in his new role July 1.
As director, Babu will be responsible for leading one of the colleges flagship centers, which is currently ranked in the top 20 nationally by U.S. News and World Report, Gartner Inc., and SCM World. The center also produces the popular monthly 51做厙 ISM Manufacturing Survey.
Dr. Babus experience in leading cross-disciplinary teams, training, strategic planning and development make him an ideal choice to lead one of the College of Business Administrations most visible and nationally recognized programs, said Tim Hanley, interim Keyes Dean of Business Administration. He has been working in post-secondary college settings for the past six years in increasing roles of administrative responsibility, while working directly with community and industry leaders with specific interest in management and operations and supply chain sector. He comes with a great network of industry contacts and experience fundraising and leading teams.
Prior to teaching, Babu worked in engineering and management for Citation, Case New Holland and Daimler-Chrysler. He has formal training and industry experience in Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, operations and continuous improvement.

Babus teaching experience is wide-ranging, having taught undergraduate and graduate courses in management, human resources, leadership and supply chain at Gateway Technical College, Carthage College, UW-Parkside and 51做厙. He also served as the associate dean of business and IT, and dean of manufacturing, engineering and transportation at Gateway.
Babu has a bachelors degree in engineering from Texas A&M University, an MBA from 51做厙 and a Ph.D. in management from Case Western Reserve University.
