History: St. Charles Borromeo Church, Montegut [Pointe-aux-Ch礙nes], Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, has been a predominantly Native American (Houma, Pointe-aux-Ch礙nes) parish in the Diocese of Houman-Thibodaux (Archives: Thibodaux, Louisiana). Some local Houma Indians formed a break-away Pointe-aux-Ch礙nes Tribe, 1993.
